Forgiveness and gratitude

Suffering tends to isolate us into a small tight heap forming around a particular topic. In this narrow field we lose access to gladness, self-acceptance, and forgiveness. Breathing through the agitating energies, feel them as just that – it’s not personal, we can rise above. Willing to touch what’s difficult with gladness, we can meet the failing world without getting upset. 

Innate Nobility

The world that consciousness presents us as existing within is divided into self and other; this is a source of suffering. Authentic relatedness is needed to realize that there is no fundamental self or other. So, we need to establish a relationship with the uncertainty of this that’s harmonious. Stop the topic, experience the energy. If we meet suffering not in terms of me and you, but with awareness of agitated energies, then loving-kindness, compassion and patience naturally arise. The tangle of fear and insecurity that imprisons us dissolves. The citta returns to its innate nobility.

The True Good Person (Sappurisa)

The good person is considered to be the bedrock, the first condition that should be established, for someone seeking after liberation. We are both formed by associating with good people, and we can become good people. In meditation we purify the bodily base so it can act as the reference point for our intentions and behaviors. A sense of meaningful purpose and alignment to true duty then inform the ‘true person’.
